Ivor Allchurch was ‘The Golden Boy’ of Welsh football, and proudly one of Swansea’s own. Across a glittering career, the Plasmarl product made 503 appearances for Swansea Town, and scored a record 192 goals for our club. At international level, he won 68 caps and played for Wales at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. Ivor put Swansea and Wales on the map, on and off the pitch, and ranks as one of the finest football players, if not the finest, Swansea has ever produced.
